Sarah-Jayne Ellicott BA (Hons) A.I.D.T.A , A.N.A.T.D
Sarah-Jayne was born feet first and has been dancing ever since! After passing her associate examinations in 2008 with the NATD, she went on to further her passion for dance in education by studying a degree in '''Dance Education and Performance at the University of Central Lancashire.
In 2011, Sarah-Jayne joined SMDA(formerly the Evans School of Dance) where she studied for her associate examinations with the IDTA,under the direction of Miss. Judith Thompson.
Sarah-Jayne has a love of music and drama and also holds several professional qualifications with the RNCM and LAMDA. In her free time, Sarah-Jayne pursues her love of Argentine Tango and Salsa.
Alongside teaching, Sarah-Jayne is currently studying an MA in Dance and Somatic Well-being (Connections to the living body), and is particularly interested in the integration of Somatic Movement Education into the healthcare industry.
Debbie Hunt A.N.A.T.D
Debbie started dancing at the age of 5 and quickly got the "dancing bug". She spent all of her free time dancing, whether this was at class, performing on stage, choreographing dance numbers or helping to teach the younger children. She collected many medals and exam successes along the way to achieving her professional teaching qualification at the age of 23, and continued to perform and choreograph musicals and pantomimes with a number of local amateur theatre companies.
Debbie has been teaching at the South Manchester Dance Academy (formerly The Evans School of Dancing) for over 25 years.
She has taught from tots to adults, and is proud to have successfully trained a number of students to become qualified teachers.
In addition to being a key member of the teaching staff,Debbie organises our uniform, co-ordinates our exam days and is the school "hairdressing expert"!!
